Piening Personal, a leading personnel service provider, recognized the need to digitalize its analogue communication processes with employees. This led to the development of the Piening Connect employee app, a comprehensive platform that takes into account the needs of both employees and the company. At a time when digitalization and increased efficiency are the focus across all industries, the Piening Connect app offers a user-friendly and easily accessible solution.

The challenge

DIgital transformation for a diverse target audience

The main task was to develop an easy-to-use app that maps various processes and can be used conveniently by a broad target group.

Cross-platform availability: Development of a standardized app solution for Android, iOS and web browsers.

User-friendliness: Development of an intuitive app that easily maps complex processes.

Diverse processes: Integration of various functions such as working time recording, vacation requests, training videos and access to payslips.

Offline functionality: Ensuring the functionality of the app even without an internet connection.

Our approach

Our Approach & collaboration

We began with a thorough analysis of potential technologies that could meet the client's requirements. Flutter was identified as the ideal choice to provide an engaging user interface and a seamless, cross-platform experience.

UI designs and customer requirements were continuously integrated in close cooperation with the customer. The team members were integrated into the customer's project management processes in phases and took part in daily coordination meetings shortly before a release, for example. This meant that questions could be clarified directly with the near-shore backend team and delays avoided.

The implementation of a cloud-based CI/CD pipeline enabled fast and efficient software updates. Automated tests ensured consistently high code quality.

With over 7,500 active users, the Piening Connect app has achieved an impressive level of acceptance, which underlines its user-friendliness and practical relevance in everyday life. This shows that the app meets the needs of end users. In addition, the digitalization of more than 10 core processes has led to a significant reduction in the workload of employees. This leads to a more efficient way of working, saves time, reduces errors and increases productivity.
